Return to best-selling author Barbara Hinske’s world of Rosemont as the people of Westbury seek their happy ending. Interview with the Author Q: Have you always wanted to be a writer? A: I'm an attorney and have done a lot of technical writing, but knew I wanted to write novels. I thought I'd find time when I retired. Fate stepped in, as it often does, and put me on this path sooner. I broke my neck in an auto accident and suffered from double vision for months. I couldn't read or watch TV, so I conceived the plot for my 5 book Rosemont series. Q: Why did you decide to write a series? A: I prefer television series to movies. The longer format of television allows for deeper character development. The same holds true for series fiction. I like to fall in love with a character or hate a character (but root for them to change their ways). I feel like Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi from Alexander McCall Smith's Ladies' Detective Agency series are old friends. I wanted to recreate that sort of connection in the Rosemont series. Q: What other authors do you read or admire? A: I'm a fan of women's fiction, women's sagas, and romance. I love Rosamunde Pilcher's later trilogy -The Shell Seekers, Coming Home, and September. Jan Karon's Mitford series creates an enchanting world, as does Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove. My Rosemont series is set in the current day, but I've tried to capture a feeling of camaraderie and connection (among the good guys) that takes us back to a slightly simpler time and place. Q: What are your favorite books? A: In addition to the works I've already mentioned, I adored Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and A Long Way from Chicago. Q: Who has had the greatest influence on your author life? A: My dad--without question. He told me or read me a bedtime story every night of my childhood, often adding his own twists and turns to the plots or dialogue. He had an incredible, gentle sense of humor. He also wrote novels--who-done-its--when he retired. I have 17 of his manuscripts and can feel his comforting presence in the room with me when I pick up his pages and read. Q: What of your own interests have you written about in the Rosemont series? A: I love my home and all things related to homemaking: cooking, gardening, decorating, and entertaining. I love celebrating all of the seasons and I change my decor for Easter, 4th of July, fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring. I'm also addicted to vintage silver and all sorts of china, with a special fondness for teapots....

This is another wonderful installment in the Rosemont Series that was over way too soon for this reader. It was nice to be able to slip right back into the lives of my friends in Westbury. As this series unfortunately comes to a close (I know, I know, all good things must come to an end . . . eventually), good has triumphed over evil. Life is settling down once again in Westbury but this time, several of our friends are on new paths. New friendships have been made and the book closes with a nice ending for everyone.Even though I read this book several weeks ago, my thoughts still return to my friends in Westbury. I wonder what adventures they are getting into now. Perhaps Hinske has more rabbits to pull out of her hat for Westbury yet!! We shall see.Thank you Barbara Hinske for a wonderful series. I thoroughly enjoyed it.Disclaimer: I was provided an electronic copy of the book by the author to early read and provide a review.

Barbara Hinske's Bringing Them Home concludes her Rosemont series. Each of these books could be read as a standalone but are much better as the series. Chuck Delgado is the evil character in the Rosemont series, especially in Bringing Them Home. My disgust for him was almost palpable even though he was a fictional character. Maggie and John are close to unraveling the mystery of town corruption and the missing funds. Apparently they are getting too close and deadly consequences threaten them. All of the Rosemont characters return and their lives are sorted out one way or another. Good book and loved the series.

A wonderful conclusion to this series, though I wouldn't mind hearing more about the characters in the future!

Bringing Them Home by Barbara Hinske is the fifth book in the Rosemont series. Maggie Martin is the mayor of Westbury and owner of Rosemont where she lives with her husband, John. Maggie has been taking care of her daughter, Susan since she donated a kidney to her half-sister. Soon Susan will be able to start her new life as Mrs. Aaron Scanlon in California. But what happens when Aaron’s residency is completed? Maggie is worried about the case against Chuck Delgado. It will be going to trial soon, but Alex is not sure they have enough evidence. There are people in the town who have the proof needed to put Chuck away. But one if afraid of being implicated in Chuck’s crimes and another wants to protect a relationship. Another person gets in Chuck’s way and does not get the opportunity to come forward. Chuck will do whatever it takes to avoid jail. David Wheeler wants revenge against Chuck for his father’s death. David decides to look for the needed documents. If Delgado catches him, David will not make it home to his mother. Maggie gets to spend some time at Highpointe College, and it leads to a wonderful offer. Is this the right time for to make a change? Come back to Rosemont to see if Chuck Delgado gets his due and to catch up on everyone’s lives in Bringing Them Home.Bringing Them Home is nicely written, easy to read, and has a good pace. The setting sounds lovely (I enjoyed the descriptions of the town), and I like the good guys in the series (Chuck and his cohorts need to be taken down). There are several storylines in the book (as you can see from my summary), but it is easy to keep track of them all. Bringing Them Home is the fifth book in the series, and it is not a stand-alone novel. Each book in the series builds upon the previous one (in other words, you need to read them in order). I give Bringing Them Home 4 out of 5 stars (I liked it). The Chuck Delgado storyline ending was anticlimactic. It was wrapped up too quickly and cleanly (and the readers were not a part of it). I did like how all the storylines were wrapped up in the end. It was a lovely and sweet conclusion (you will finish the book with a smile on your face).

Barbara Hinske's Bringing Them Home: The Fifth Novel in the Rosemont Series is absolutely amazing. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad to see this series end. I feel like the people of Westbury, the families we have grown to love, and Rosemont, itself, have become part of me, part of who I am. I enjoyed each of these books and their characters so very much. I recommend the Rosemont series to all. If I were you, I would buy the books so that you are able to return to them at any time...believe me, you will want to. I also own the audiobooks of the first 4 in the series...I'm hoping the 5th comes out soon, so that I also have my full set of those. The narration is phenomenal. In fact, my love of the audiobooks is what convinced me to also get the print copies. I feel like you get to know the characters on a personal level with the audio, which is not something I frequently feel with audiobooks. I have posted lengthy reviews of each of the books on Audible, in case you are interested in the audio versions, instead. I want everyone to know about the Rosemont series!! I love it so much...it is something that stays with you long after you are finished. :-) It gives hope, it brings happiness, and it has opened my eyes to things I never realized were missing in my life, until now. Barbara Hinske, thank you for writing this wonderful series that I will hold forever in my heart. :-)

ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!Bringing Them Home is Book 5 in the Rosemont Series and it does not disappoint!! In fact, it may be my favorite in the series thus far. Hinske continues her story of life in the small town of Westbury. The beloved main characters have been through many challenges throughout the series and it's always interesting which ones choose better vs. bitter. It's a fantastic story of family, friends (old and new), a community that comes together for those they love, redemption and forgiveness, justice and new beginnings. As always, Mayor Maggie Martin presides over it all with the love and support of her husband, Dr. John Allen and graciously opens their beautiful home Rosemont for all important celebrations.

The final book in the Rosemont series and was not a disappointment. The book follows the lives of those associated to Rosemont, Maggie, John, Frank, Loretta and the thugs that continue to bring the town and the people of Westbury down. Chuck Delgado is determined to steal, kill and bully all those in the town and who are associated to the embezzlement. This book is full of suspense, love, new and old friendships, family and forgiveness. I thought the ending was fabulous. I have been honored to read this series. I look forward to read more of her books. Disclaimer: "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

Barbara hits a home run again!I loved this new book. The story follows the same families as the other four books in the Rosemont series. I could hardly wait for this to come out and see what happened to Maggie & John, Frank and Loretta - and the scum bag Chuck Delgado. I don't know if she's doing another Rosemont - if not I'll be sad as I loved this series. But I'll read anything Barbara Hinske writes, she's such a great writer and Maggie reminds me of Barbara. Loved it

A satisfying endingI wrote a review after I read the 4th book, thinking it was the last in the series, here I was a tad bit upset. (Ok" I was angry!). I wish I had known then that there was a fifth book in the series - Barbara Hinski has done a marvelous job tying up all the loose ends ! I would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys a good, multifaceted story with interesting characters and a house and town that provide the perfect backdrop!

Things seem to be getting tied up quite nicely, but I really don’t want this series to end, and hope it doesn’t. I can see this series going along just fine with a new position for Maggie and a brand new mayor. Course, it was nice to see the bad guys finally get theirs. It was also heartwarming to see how doing right wins out and is rewarded. I will miss the people of Westbury, if this is the end. I so enjoyed meeting and knowing them.

(I volunteered to read this book gifted to me by the author)This is a stunning conclusion to a wonderful series as Maggie and her husband still have a marvelous community that has built up around them as the series has progressed. As per usual, this book had me wishing the series would never end. Maggie reminds me of friends since passed who would have adored these books. And it sure is nice to have a peaceful group of friends and acquaintances as one looks into the future. Highly recommended

When book four of the Rosemont Series ended there was no mention of a fifth book. I had thoroughly enjoyed these books and I wasn't satisfied that all loose ends had been tied up to my satisfaction. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a chance to read the fifth book before publication. I was very happy with the way the author completed each characters story. This is a series that I will read again on a rainy or snowy weekend when I need an escape with a cozy book.

Good seriesLoved this series. It was hard to wait on book 5. If you like to follow a group of characters this is the series to enjoy. I don't know if I could be as forgiving as Maggie is even with the lies she fought against, or be civil to the people she knew to be behind the crimes.

A perfect ending for a good series. To bring 5 books together with such even writing and consistent characters and growth is pretty impressive. The author's ability to write characters and plot are going to make her one of my favorite authors. I like that things turned out and that good triumphs and that there's always more for growing. Hope for the future.

Makes my heart happy!Bringing them Home was a wonderful fifth book in the Rosemont series. It tied up alot of loose ends for many of the characters. It was a definite page turner. I love Barbara's writing. You feel like you know her characters personally. I do not want this series to end.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the rest of the series as well. Do yourself a favor and curl up and get to know the characters of Rosemont. You will not be disappointed. I am thrilled that I found this series. The characters are fun and complex at times. It feels like a great community to be a part of. Try it, you'll like it!

A wonderful seriesI just finished reading the final book in the Rosemont series; I won't give away any secrets, but I will say that its characters and setting drew me in from the first page to the last. Barbara Hinske's books are engaging, exciting and warm-hearted and I look forward to reading everything she writes!

Another great read with an unpredictable ending. Each book draws you in as if you are there in the story. Maggie, the main character still is the friend that draws you along with the various story lines. The stories are separate but also intertwine the characters. This is the 5th book in the series, each book kept me intrigued and wanting more of the story.

Best yetMany of the different storylines are wrapped up in this book. I can't tell you how, because that would give everything away. You have to read this book to find out more about Maggie and John, Susan and Aaron, Alex and Mark, David and Grace, and of course, Frank and Loretta. This is a series I would read again.

Last but not leastI have now read all five in the series. The first one pulled me in and I hated when each one ended. I couldn't wait to see how everything turned out. My greatest hope is that Barbara Hinskie will continue to write about Rosemont. I absolutely loved it!

A nice finishI enjoyed this series very much. I did feel this book could have delved more into the Delgados. It felt like some of the Story was missing. I did like the seeing the changes that occurred in many of the character's lives.
