I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.'Secret Pleasure' by Lora Leigh. This is book 13 in the "Bound Hearts" series and the story of Alyssa, Sebastian and Shane. Sebastian and Shane are cousins who happen to meet Alyssa and they both fell for her. Alyssa is a young innocent 18 year old and is very attracted to the two cousins. They all meet again 5 months later when Alyssa is off on vacation. The boys have followed her there so that they can pursue a relationship with her. Which they do and everything is great until they are blackmailed to stay away from her. Alyssa struggled with her emotions and loss. Now six years later we find the cousins are coming back for her. Will they be able to when her over again after all Alyssa has been through? I honestly don't even know where to start here...First of all, I guess I should say that I've been a huge fan of this series and Lora Leigh's books in general. Unfortunately, this story didn't even feel like anything she has written before. The style of writing was off even though it had your typical Lora Leigh characterization. It was really choppy and most of the time didn't make a whole lot of sense. I found myself putting it down quite a bit and not wanting to pick it back up, and that's never happened to me with one of her books before. I'm seriously just at a loss for words as a result. It started off pretty great, that garden scene was kind of hot, but then everything just fell to pieces as the story went on. I know I can't get into too much detail without giving things away, so just suffice to say that I am just overall very disappointed and I expected better from one of my favorite authors.*I received a review copy from the publisher/author via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.*

ARC received for reviewThat blurb on Goodreads is so wrong. Try this one instead...Sebastian and Shane De Loren were born to love Alyssa Hampstead. No other woman on earth can burn for them, ignite with passion between them, the way Alyssa does. But after three sensual months of pleasure come to a crashing halt, Sebastian and Shane are left fighting with everything they’ve got, risking it all to have Alyssa one more time...Alyssa has closed off her heart. A senator’s daughter in the political spotlight, she’d rather be quiet and safe than feel the emotional intensity Sebastian and Shane roused within her years ago. But when the sexy cousins blaze their way back into her life, Alyssa cannot help but succumb to the heady pleasures the two men can give her. And as an unknown enemy draws near, Alyssa will need Sebastian and Shane to protect her...and satisfy every forbidden craving.Great story. They all fall in love when she's only 18 and they're 24/25. Then enter a blackmailer and they get riped apart. The cousins obey for 6 years until they catch the blackmailer (so they think). She gets hurt as the boys are returning to her. Her BFF demands they clean up their shadowed past so nothing else hurts her which takes another two years. FINALLY they are back together. The sex is hot, hot, hot. I think she gives in way to easily to them when they return. How many times was she going to be poisoned, stabbed, run over, blown up....enough already. Plus what did her mother hide in Alyssa's secret spot? Now what is going on with her BFF?

30/11 - This was a crazy mash-up of bodice ripper and erotica with some random fantasy elements thrown in, oh and everyone's in the CIA (except the heroine). The front cover advertises that this 'has never before been published' and I can see why. There were way too many errors for a traditionally published book - missing words, the wrong words, sentences that I was forced to read multiple times in order to understand them (and sometimes even then I couldn't work it out). It's also the last book in a long series (why oh why don't publishers include this information somewhere on the front cover?). If I had realised how far into the series this was I probably wouldn't have read it until I had read a few more of the previous books).SPOILERS FROM HERE ON DOWNSo the plot (which wasn't properly explained on the back): Alyssa visits a friend of the family's house for a Christmas ball and accidentally interrupts what she assumes is an assignation between cousins Shane and Sebastian De Loren and a woman (it was actually some kind of CIA handoff). The boys become immediately obsessed with her and find out through their connections where she plans to take her post-school trip, in Barcelona. She's the virginal only child of a politically upward moving family. Shane and Sebastian are something to do with the CIA and appear to be about 25 (their age is only mentioned once, by Alyssa's father, in reference to her innocence compared to their experience). They chase her and eventually catch her and there's lots of sex between the three of them. I actually thought this first part was quite good, the crazy didn't start till the boys' family received a ransom demand (accompanied by explicit photos of the three of them) that forced them to pay a handsome sum and immediately break things off with Alyssa and disappear never to be seen again (by her). Alyssa is heartbroken, especially considering her pregnancy, but goes home as the letter she received from 'them' instructs her to. When she gets home the ransomer has made extra sure that Alyssa and the De Lorens never see each other again (although I'm still unclear as to why they wanted that) by giving her parents pretty much the same demand.Years pass, during which Alyssa agrees to marry an old family friend (who agrees to the marriage in name only to get away from his abusive father who is attempting to beat the gay out of him) to avoid the scandal of being an unwed mother (this was set in current century, right?!), then miscarries her pregnancy because someone poisoned her and we pick up with her just as she's making preparations to leave her husband. Husband (can't remember his name) doesn't like the sound of that idea and starts verbally abusing her, eventually taunting her with his knowledge of her relationship with the De Lorens. Alyssa insists she's leaving, but he stabs her and escapes before her bodyguard arrives in time to save her. As she lies nearly dying she mentally calls out for Shane and Sebastian and they 'hear' her and come running from the other side of the country and we learn that the same thing happened when she miscarried (they 'knew' that she was in horrific mental and physical pain, but due to the ransom threat that the intimate photos would be released if they had any contact they stayed away). They arrive after she's been operated on (by a single doctor and his nurse in the house because "There's nothing a hospital would have that I don't have here" which is utter crap) and she's in recovery but are told by a friend of hers, Summer, that it would be better if they waited until she's recovered from this event and until they have finished everything to do with the CIA (which takes another two years!?). You see in the intervening years Shane and Sebastian have been chasing the ransomer, finally killing him the day before Alyssa was stabbed, but after what her husband said regarding her relationship with them they need to look into the idea that whatsisname was working with the guy they already found. After whatsisname stabbed Alyssa and escaped the police Alyssa's mother decided that the best thing would be for her to lure him in and then sacrifice her life in order to kill him!! We don't actually get an explanation of why Margot chose to do this or how she killed the two of them, the story just jumps from Alyssa dazedly seeing her mother sitting beside her while she recovers to the funeral where an Alyssa stand-in has taken her place due to her still needing to recover from the stab wound. Then it's two years later and Alyssa is attending another Christmas ball at that friend of the family's mansion, who turns out to be Shane and Sebastian's aunt who has now married Alyssa's widower father. Shane and Sebastian are back to try to win Alyssa back, but it's not that easy because she believes that they dumped her, she doesn't know about the ransom demand that's been hanging over their heads all these years. This was when all the CIA people turned up - Khalid (who seemed unreasonably antagonistic towards the boys), Summer, Gia, Raeg, and some other guy I forget the name of - and I started to get confused as to who everyone was and how they knew each other. Shane and Sebastian manage to get Alyssa alone and naked, separately at first and then together, but then the assassination attempts start - attempted hit and run, attempted chair bombing, attempted home invasion - but they are all thwarted by quick thinking, luck and bad workmanship, and the good guys being prepared. Alyssa is eventually confronted by the current killer (because she's the third after the first two got themselves killed), Gia whose motivation is completely nonsensical and poorly explained. The epilogue shows Alyssa and the boys back in Barcelona, she is described as being their wife. Is this meant to indicate that marriages of three people are legal in Spain? Or is this a 'marriage' in the same way that hard working people are known to be 'married' to their work? This really was an absurd story and I almost gave it one star except I enjoyed the opening chapters and the sex was hot. Not recommended unless you love crazy plots and lots of drama.

Alyssa is a sassy 18 year old virgin who catches the attention of cousins Sebastian and Shane. They engage in a quick love affair but dire circumstances (blackmail) rips them apart. Alyssa is attacked by someone close to her and she barely survives. The attack eventually is the catalyst that brings them back together 8 years later.Secret Pleasure was a good and entertaining read. It was a little slow going at first with little character connection but then the emotional ties and heartache become real and intense. Secret Pleasure did provide a great balance of steaming hot, mystery and suspense.I am a big fan of Lora Leigh's writing and as it stands, I believe I've read all her published works so far. What I like most is her ability to write sensual and erotic romances but still manage to provide a strong story that could stand on its own. Soulmates torn apart by distance and misunderstandings is unbearably painful. Secret Pleasure is a difficult story to read. Alyssa Hampstead is a very protected daughter of a dominating mother. No one messes with this princess. When she takes a summer vacation away from her suffocating cocoon, she experiences an explosive pleasure at the hands of Shane and Sebastien. When they are forced apart, it seems as if Alyssa dies and becomes a shell of herself. From a character perspective, I loved the story. Ms. Leigh creates characters I generally love. The heartache she puts them through is sadistic. Only a masochist would be able to handle it without breaking. I really loved these three characters. I find Shane and Sebastian are to die for and Alyssa is the sweetest girl. Their summer fling is everything a young woman wishes it to be. It's the stuff fantasies are made of and almost every single one of Alyssa's pent-up dreams are made to come true.My problem with this story is the plot device. The main reason why the lovers are torn apart is poorly constructed. With the power of Shane and Sebastian's family, I find it illogical they took so long to figure out the perpetrators. What I find even odder is Alyssa's mother was not able to figure it out quicker either. This does not mesh with the way the characters are designed. Especially when the villains are revealed. These so called masterminds should not have been able to pull this off. I don't buy it and it let me down. The story is also surprisingly jarring. Ms. Leigh usually writes a smooth story with better transitions. The sexual tensions is good. The sexual acts themselves are a bit worn because it is very similar to many of the ménages from previous stories in this series. When I first started reading the Bound Hearts series close to a decade ago, the sex was fresh, erotic and arousing. I'm not sure if it is because I'm jaded or the sex Ms. Leigh provides is no longer as edgy and enticing. Regardless, I still enjoyed the story because of the characters. One can hope the next book in this series will be sinfully pleasurable. Recommended for ménage lovers who enjoy angst and lovers reunited.*provided by NetGalley

Let me clear here...I have been a fan of Lora Leigh for a very long time. But her last few books have been less than par, I would even go as far as saying this will be my last LL book. There were several weird, what the hell, moments and a few that were mentioned then never followed up. I was left with more questions than answers. The bad guys were never revealed WHY they were bad, there was at least once it was mentioned about something left for her from her mother in a secret place, but that was never brought up again. I loved the first 6 Bound Hearts books, but since then they have fallen flat. It appears the sex is added just to have sex scenes and love? Forget it, doesn't even seem real. Sorry, this is the last $8 I will spend with LL.

***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review***Alyssa happens to catch the eyes’ of two handsome men, Shane and Sebastian, from the very first time they meet. She is a very young 18 years old and they are very jaded and full of charm. The dance they met at is where her innocence charms them and enthralls them completely. Her parents end up sending her to Spain where Shane and Seb already are to begin with, waiting on her. They have a plan, a plan to pursue her and show her that she is meant to be in their lives. Alyssa at first was unsure of what it all meant but as they took the time to break down her walls, everything fell into place. That magical month in Spain was so good for them. They thought they had it all, could have it all when it was ripped away from them. Pictures were taken of them in intimate moments and unless they leaves her, it will be put up all over the internet. So the men make her think she was nothing to them but a game per say. It killed them to do this but they had to do it. So Alyssa ends up going back home and marrying another man and in that marriage there was trouble. For 6 years she endured until he tried to kill her by stabbing her and he almost succeeded. Seb and Shane have patiently waited another two years for Alyssa to recover from the stabbing to go to her but her life is still in danger and they aren’t about to stay away any further. They know she is mad and the anger between them is living and breathing when they see each other after all those years apart. Alyssa has so much emotional pain tied up to her men yet the passion that still exists is there and she wants them, still, after all this time. The problem isn’t that she still loves them, is will she forgive them. Her other problem is who wants her dead and is trying to kill her? There are so many secrets, lies, hot sex, make up sex , and attempted murder in this book that is so good. I love the author and she knows how to get the most out of her characters. I feel for Alyssa-she has been thru the wringer –not knowing if she is loved, loved enough or not loved at all. Giving all my love and feeling like it was thrown back in my face. This woman is incredibly strong to have gone through what she has. As for the men- They are some of the most ALPHA males I have had the pleasure of reading about. Strong, opinionated, bossy, tender and passionate. I cannot wait to read another Bound Heart book because there is nothing as good like the BH series. You cannot pass this story up because it is that good.My rating: 4.5 STARS ****

Sebastian and Shane De Loren were born to love Alyssa Hampstead but their months of sensual pleasure comes crashing to a halt and they are left risking it all to protect her in this sensational contemporary romance. To survive the pain, Alyssa closed off her heart and she refuses to risk it again for the sexy cousins and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the story when Sebastian and Shane blaze their way back into her life and insist on melting the ice that surrounds her heart. The chemistry and the red hot sex scenes including m/f/m scenes scorch every page as every emotion flows from every page with such vibrant intensity that the reader can feel all the love, the pain, the anger, the defeat, the joy and the betrayals which captures the readers heart as these strong compelling characters demand your attention and the steady to fast plot captivates readers with suspense, turmoil, excitement and romance.Gut wrenching emotions keeps readers on the edge as circumstances pull Sebastian and Shane away from the only woman who can make them burn and Alyssa struggles through some earth shattering devastation with spine tingling tension building expectations as truths are revealed, betrayals are discovered and the danger escalates with several deadly attacks against Alyssa. The well written scenes and details ensure that the reader can place themselves in the story, making it easy to relate to the characters and feel all the intense emotions that vibrate from the pages and the intriguing events ensure that there is never a dull moment. I was completely spellbound by Alyssa, Shane and Sebastian’s story from the very beginning as Lora Leigh spun a web of suspense, passion and a story that grips readers by the heart, so be prepared to feel the dizzying array of emotions as these characters draw you into their story and refuse to let you go.

It's been a few years since we had a new book in this series. It's one of my favorites, so I was glad to see it.I loved the first part of the book. Loved how innocent Alyssa was, how she managed to charm Shane and Sebastian from the first moment they met her, how from that point forward they went about changing their lives and made a plan to go after her. The boys knew she was innocent, so while they were forward with their intentions and let Alyssa know, they didn't overwhelm her. Alyssa was strong enough to handle both men and push back when they pushed her. The time that the spent in Spain was perfect, a little too perfect because you knew something was going to happen to tear them apart. So when that happened all you could do was ride the wave.I get that the boys were trying to protect Alyssa, but I wanted them to go to her and let her know why. Instead Alyssa had to think she meant nothing to them, leaving a big mark on her soul.I was stunned to learn who was behind things and the reason why. I was glad that the group learned, but they paid a steep price as the bad guys hit a little too close to home. The ending had me smiling. Loved how Alyssa had everyone in Spain wrapped around her fingers, more so with the bomb she dropped!I find myself very intrigued with what happened to Summer at the end. Can't wait to read more about her situation.

Thirteenth in the Bound Hearts erotic romance series and revolving around a loose group of men who like to share their women. The threesome focus is on Alyssa Hampton, Sebastian De Loren, and Shane Connor. My TakeI felt rather lost in this story, primarily because of Alyssa. I’ve been reading about her as a peripheral character throughout the Bound Hearts series with whispers about her mysterious association with the Sinclair Men’s Club, and we suddenly get the scoop on her in this non-linear narrative that jumps all over the place time-wise — very annoying.I also felt lost because I had skipped (not on purpose!) reading this one before I read Intense Pleasure, 14. Don’t do it. Read this in order at least to keep one character in the right head space for yourself. The theme is love, at both extremes. Margo realizes she can love, and Alyssa, Sebastian, and Shane have a different, binding love. One that ‘Bastian’s grandfather recognizes, although Leigh doesn’t take advantage of that knowledge to make us feel the loss even more. There's Gia's version of love, Harvey's, and even Summer's.Naturally, a horribly dramatic conflict arises, which wasn’t all that believable. Just another of the many not believable situations in this. It’s a good thing that Leigh told us how sensual Alyssa was, but I wasn’t seeing it. Nor did I buy how easily Sebastian and Shane seduced her. With her mother’s strictures surrounding her all her life, I did not get the impression she was so easy. Not at eighteen years of age.The whole “break-up” was too simplistic, although I can see why Leigh would use it to create drama. Why not simply remove the cameras? After all, the boys’ families waited three days. That end bit when Alyssa learns the truth about Sebastian and Shane…nah…her reactions didn’t ring true. They were so lame and totally opposite what I thought her character was like. Well, okay, I didn’t buy ‘Bastian’s or Shane’s excuses either.Plot beats included Chekhov’s gun, the villain speech, and definitely the shoulder angel/devil as Alyssa vacillates back and forth.Leigh's left all sorts of unanswered questions from what is the reason Ian asked Alyssa to leave the Club? The annoying Margot. She sounds like a dragon. I know Leigh tells us that Summer is Alyssa’s best friend, but that doesn’t ring true either. You should be able to tell a best friend anything, not believe she’ll rat you out to your mother. Why would Margot think her daughter needed a caretaker? That bit about the cameras… This story is so full of weirdnesses.I’m going with third-person omniscient point-of-view as we know the thoughts, feelings, and actions of many of the characters in Secret Pleasure. The StoryIt all began at Alyssa’s “coming-out” ball. A chance meeting with two hot men wildly attracted to their siren. It continued over a summer vacation in Barcelona that quickly went tragic, and left Alyssa bereft, grieving, dead inside. The CharactersAlyssa Hampstead is overly eager to escape her mother’s control. Candy will be Alyssa’s assistant. Alyssa’s parents are the overly controlling Margot “the dark queen” Hampstead — why is she such a bitchy woman? — and newly elected Senator Davis Allen Hampstead. Why would her father allow this? Raeg is her father’s chief of staff; Crane is a bodyguard. Dr. Brennan is the family doctor; Lisa Shaw is a nurse. James is the Cook and don’t ever call him anything but “Cook”. Steven Richards is one of the grounds guards.Sebastian “Goof” De Loren and Shane “Cowboy” Connor are cousins who like to share their women. Until they meet Alyssa. They also work as a team for the CIA.Lucien De Loren is ‘Bastien’s oldest brother who breeds horses; Angel is their sister. Fernando is his grandfather. Alberto and Tabitha are his parents. Murphy Connor is Shane’s oldest brother who runs the family ranch in Texas. Lark is his sister. His parents are Gavin and Francesca (she's a premier trauma surgeon). The Colliers include……Landra who is aunt to Sebastian and Shane. Jeb is Landra’s son. The Colliers throw a Winter Ball every year.Harvey Stanhope needs a beard. Marion is his mother; Leigh mentions a Marion as his father too??BarcelonaGregory Santiago is Alyssa’s downstairs neighbor. Marissa is Gregory’s supportive girlfriend while Roberto is his brother.CIAMost of their friends appear to be agents with the CIA and/or members of the Sinclair Men’s Club. Summer “Belle” Bartlett is Alyssa’s best friend (Intense Pleasure, 14); Caleb is her older brother. Gianna “Gia” Bennett is the daughter of one of Margo’s friends and one of Davis’ supporters; Kevin Barkley is Gia’s illegitimate brother. Esteban Falcone will be Gia's partner later. Millicent Raye is an agent, divorced, hunting a new (wealthy) man, and known for her hypocritical innocence.Khalid Mustafa is a half-Saudi, one-time bastard prince, and his wife, Marty is former FBI (Guilty Pleasure, 11). Courtney Sinclair is Ian Sinclair’s wife (Shameless Embraces: "Shameless", 7). Chase Falladay is a private investigator for the Club. Detective Allen is with the police…and a member of the Club. The Cover and TitleThe cover doesn’t really do the story justice since there are two men involved with the woman. Still, it is a sweet romance cover with 'Bastian (or Shane) and Alyssa nude from mid-chest up — discreetly filmed over with a banner across the center with the author’s name in a red thin, sans-serif font. The same red appears in script in the first word of the title in the solid cream bottom third with the last word in the title in the same font as the author’s name, but in black. The title is a misnomer, as it wasn’t a ”Secret” Pleasure at all.

Let me start by saying the 2 star review has little to do with the story.I love the Bound Hearts series by Lora Leigh....this is a menage series and anyone who knows me knows I'm a die hard menage fan. so Secret Pleasure being the latest installment about one of the "club"'s resident members should be an amazing book. We got to see Ian and Courtney and most of all Khalid! The characters dig into your heart, The story is fantastic with suspense and terror and excitement and heartbreak and incredible sexy times. So why the two stars? THE EDITING SUCKS....Ms. Leigh needs to fire her editor and get a good beta reader....yet another Lora Leigh book where the editing is ATROCIOUS. No less than 5 times the wrong name was used and 3 times it was in sexy scenes and that sure throws off the vibe of the scene. I'm absolutely certain Ms. Leigh's publishing editors do not read the story...they run spell check thru and call it a day....god forbid we should catch wrong words, mismatched clothing from scene to scene, wrong names and wonky timelines. Normally I'd privately e-mail the author but been there done that got ignored so now it's here. Normally Ms. Leigh is an auto-buy author for me but I'm thinking maybe the library is a better bet because I'm tired of her publisher making money on books they put zero effort into.

This was was pretty good at first then it just wasn't. I have read i think most if not all the previous books in this series so i kinda knew what to expect. I did not get what i expected. I liked the cousins well enough and Alyssa. I could not keep straight all the various secondary character. Many appeared with no explanation of who they were where they came from. The cousins were called brothers more than once in the story. Alyssa mother tells her right before she leaves her in a pivotal place in the story to look in her secret hiding place for something. It's never mentioned again. The last villan (there are more than one) is revealed at the end and because this story was all over the place it made no sense. To many relationships were not explained and/or barely if at all eluded to. I read the book to the very end in hopes it would all makes sense. It was all to choppy for me. The blurb is kind of misleading too. She is not terrified of the men she's running from. Hurt emotionally yes, terrified no. Disappointed because i have liked this authors previous books and was excited to see she had a new release coming.

3.75 stars--NOTE: For Goodreads followers I would suggest ignoring the original storyline blurb found on the GR website as it does not apply to the current story.ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 18, 2015Sebastian DeLoren and Shane Connor were born to love Alyssa Hampstead. No other woman on Earth can burn for them, ignite with passion between them, the way Alyssa does. But after three sensual months of pleasure come to a crashing halt, Sebastian and Shane are left fighting their powerful family, risking it all to have Alyssa one more time... Alyssa has closed off her heart. A senator's daughter in the political spotlight, she'd rather be quiet and safe than feel the emotional intensity Sebastian and Shane roused within her years ago. But when the sexy cousins blaze their way back into her life, Alyssa cannot help but succumb to the heady pleasures the two men can give her. And as an unknown enemy draws near, Alyssa will need Sebastian and Shane to protect her...and satisfy every forbidden craving...••••••••••REVIEW: 3.75 stars----SECRET PLEASURE is the 13th installment in Lora Leigh’s adult, contemporary BOUND HEARTS slight, paranormal erotic romance series. This is Alyssa Hampstead, Sebastian DeLoren and Shane Connor’s storyline. SECRET PLEASURE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Several previous storyline characters play secondary and supporting roles. The Sinclair Men’s Club is but a hiccup in the overall story.NOTE: SECRET PLEASURE is a M/F/M storyline with graphic $ex scenes and explicit sexual scenarios. If you are not a fan of ménage romance SECRET PLEASURE will not be for you.Told from third person point of view SECRET PLEASURE follows the building relationship between Alyssa, Sebastian and his cousin Shane. While on summer vacation in Barcelona, Spain an eighteen year old Alyssa will meet up with the two men who have featured prominently in her sexual fantasies and dreams. For close to three months our trio explore one another’s bodies introducing Alyssa to a world of sexual pleasure she had never known. Sebastian and Shane believe they have found their soul bond in Alyssa but threats against the woman with whom they have fallen in love find our trio destroyed when eight years will pass before Sebastian and Shane are able to claim the woman who stole their hearts. SECRET PLEASURE is a storyline awash in secrets, lies, espionage and revenge. My Review:Okay, right off the bat, you need to know going into this book that you need to suspend some disbelief. This book is all about the fantasy and sometimes the fantasy goes a little over the top. BUT...if you can do that, I promise you this can be a fun book to read. I actually really enjoyed it a lot. When the book begins, Bastion and Shane are 24 yo cousins. They are best friends and share everything, including their women. They are at their aunt's annual Christmas party and meet 18 yo Alyssa in the winter-frosted gardens. Everything about this scene reminded me of a historical novel...the cousins, the setting, the clothes, and even the mild seduction. And although I'm not a historical reader, I liked that because it helped to set my mindset for the entire novel. This isn't a book that's set completely in the modern world...it's a bit more ethereal and fantastical than that...even though it is set in modern, contemporary times. I also really liked that even though this is an erotic romance, there is a slow seduction of Alyssa. She doesn't know what to do with the cousins, but she knows she has fun with them and wants to continue to enjoy their company, even when they are completely outrageous and she's not quite sure how to handle these two overwhelming, alpha men. There is a connection between the three characters which I love. I love it when an author can pull off that kind of mystical connection and thought Lora Leigh wrote it beautifully. The cousins are old enough to recognize that what they're feeling with Alyssa is different...it's more...and it's not a game. I loved that too. Things happen and the families on both sides have to get involved. Their dedication and love for these three characters was really well done. I liked finding out at the end that it had gone even deeper than was first revealed. Family is important...and all these families realize that loyalty is important regardless of what it may cost in the end. (And I know that's all vague, but I really don't want to post any spoilers because the book is brilliantly woven and I don't want to spoil any of that for anyone else.)The book was sexy and sweet and at moments, nothing short of heartbreaking. There were several times while reading it that I cried because I was so emotionally invested at the time. That usually means an automatic 5 star read from me, but there's a reason that I gave it 4. Those over the top moments. Honestly, if I'd been in a different mood when I sat down to read this, I think it could have been a dnf for me. I definitely had moments where I snickered at some of the dialogue, because it could get a little cheesy. But in the end, on the day I read it, I was okay with that, because I loved these three characters and I got to immerse myself in the fantasy of their love...and in the end, I found it beautiful.I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

"They were bound. She couldn't break that bond, couldn't escape it, now matter how she tried when her conscious mind ruled her."THE STORY: At age 18, Alyssa Hampstead is trying to get away from her overbearing mother and her political aspirations of her father. One night she meets Sebastian De Loren and his cousin Shane Conner. There is an instant connection between the three although Alyssa has no intention of getting involved with these two heartthrobs. The cousins want the beautiful young woman but know that they cannot hope to begin a relationship with her under the eyes of her parents. Instead, they plan on meeting up with her in Spain without her knowledge. The three begin an intense relationship that seems to be satisfying for all three of them, but one day they are torn apart by blackmail and threats. It is not until eight years later that the three come together again. The danger still remains, however, and this time someone may not survive.OPINION: I liked the mystery in this story more than the romance. I was intrigued by the dangers that continued to threaten this trio. I also really liked the connection between the characters. It is not always easy to write a three sided relationship but Leigh has done this several times already. I didn't feel that Alyssa's connection with Shane was as well developed as her relationship with Sebastian. That diminished my enjoyment of this story because part of the trio didn't seem as understandable. I did really enjoy the protectiveness that the cousins show Alyssa. The pain that all three of these characters endure because of their separation was well described and simply heartbreaking. This story is also pretty hot although I have read better ones by Leigh. Overall a good read but not the best of the series.WORTH MENTIONING: Readers should be aware that this book features a MMF menage relationship.FINAL DECISION: This was one of the Bound Heart series where the story was definitely more interesting than I expected. The mystery of who was threatening Alyssa kept the story moving. I didn't find the relationships in this book as well developed.CONNECTED BOOKS: BOUND HEARTS is the thirteenth book in the Bound Hearts series. It can be read as a standalone. Although I have read the first couple books in the series, I have not yet completed the rest and did not feel that I missed anything.STAR RATING: I give this book 3.75 stars. NOTE: I recieved an ARC of this book from Netgalley in order to provide a review. I was not required to provide a positive review and all opinions contained herein are my own.

Once a member of the Sinclair men’s club as their honorary female member, Alyssa Hampstead broke one of the most important rules of the club and gracefully accepted Ian Sinclair’s request to leave. For a reason. Now, caught between two men she’s terrified of, and a father determined to destroy her, she turns to the only safety she’s ever known, that of the men’s club she forced herself to walk away from.Only to learn that the very men she’s running from are awaiting for her there. And the man determined to destroy her, has just been waiting for her to return Review:Seems like forever ago since the last book in this series came out. It took me a bit to figure out who the characters were and how they fit into this universe of people and inter-connections because it had been soo long since I read the last story. Honestly, I did not think there would be another book in this series. This is one of my favorite series, though it has lost some of its original freshness, Lora Leigh still writes some of the best menage scenes around. I enjoyed the the story, the first part was very different in feel than the second half of the book. The cast of characters grew as the story progressed and at some points it was hard to keep everyone straight. I thought the mystery of who was behind it was well-done, I could not figure out who it was or why they were doing it. The one thing that is bothering me is, I wanted to know what happened to Alyssa's mother when she went after Alyssa's husband ****spoiler**** I know she killed him and she died but either I missed or it was never really explained what exactly happened. I found the characters; Alyssa, Shane and Sebastian very likable and interesting. The side characters were great too, but again there were so many of them you did not really get to spend a lot of time with them. If you have read previous books in the series, you will see some familiar faces. This is book #13 in the series, but honestly it is stand-alone, there are a few references to previous events featured in other stories though nothing that should get in the way of first-time readers of the series.Okay, story, not the best in the series, but I was glad to see that the series had not be abandoned. Hope we won't have to wait too long for another in this series.3.5 Stars*Received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review*

2.5-3 Torn Stars....I liked the story but at the same time- I didn't get all of the players on the bad side of the plot. What the hell was their motivation, truly? It just didn't seem to ring true from what they were after. I get why they supposedly did what they did but - it still doesn't sit right or make complete sense. I think there should have been better motive- like something personal to start it all in motion. Another thing that has me torn over my rating- the way Alyssa's mom was. She went from ice queen to loving mom? And then what she did later for Alyssa seemed so out of place. Another issue- how things went down with Harvey. That just tied up to fast as did the stuff with Gregory. Also, another issue I had would be the editing. Sometimes I was confused on who the hell was doing something with her between the two men or who was speaking. It did have some spelling errors and name misplacement- or so that seemed to be the case to me. Another thing that bugged me- I was hoping Shane would have the next true love connection and the story would be more of him and Alyssa however, it seemed like he had the love connection but was still a background kind of guy and that her heart really was more for Sebastian. After all, he gets the first L word and several more before she says I love you both. That's like a constellation prize to me.And what the heck happened to Shane's name? It was spelled SHAYNE in Khalid's book then changed in this one??? I didn't get that and where the hell was his true humor that I loved in the last book? OH! I can't forget this- Alyssa's dad tells the guys about a secret that she had been keeping with another friend. Like what the hell? Why did the author decide to add that to the story? It was way out of left field and didn't sit right for me either. Otherwise, I liked Alyssa and the guys together. I just wish that Shane had played a little less like a second fiddle.

There are many characters in this story, but the main characters are Alyssa, Shane and Sebastian. Alyssa, a sophisticated, 18-year virgin, who was raised with decorum and meets cousins, Shane Conner and Sebastian De Loren, at a formal party, where there is an obvious attraction. Five months pass and Alyssa, while vacationing alone in Barcelona, Spain, again encounters the dapper cousins and a lascivious relationship unite between the three. Yes, I said three. The affair is short lived as the parties are torn apart and their lives are left disheveled. Unable to see each other, Alyssa is devastated beyond comprehension and becomes a ghost of her former self. Shane and Sebastian are also tormented by the loss of Alyssa, their "siren". The parties reunite eight years later and attempt to heal their fractured past. This book is more then just an erotic romance novel and is intertwined with mystery, danger and traumatic loss. I will admit the sex scenes are carnal and sizzling, but the underlying story of the soulful love between them is majestic. The fast paced story leaves you in suspense throughout the book. Once I started this book, I didn't eat or sleep until its conclusion, and a hell of a conclusion it was.On the overall book, I give this book four out of four roses. As for the sexual content, I give this book four of four blindfolds. If you are not comfortable with sexual activity that involves three people at once, this may not be your kind of read.Thank you to Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

So Heart-Thrilling!Another fantastic book in this series! This is a breath taking tale of the emotionally intense and soul deep desires between three lovers, Sebastian, Alyssa and Shane, that was suppose to remain private, but murderous threats and blackmail keeps them apart...All the secrets and mysteries, danger and sorrow only solidifies their lusty pleasures and their unwavering devotion between the two cousins and the one woman who owns their hearts and bodies forever. This story took me on an such a crazy emotional ride! The erotic passion between the three was so beautifully sensual and sweetly loving...so swoon-worthy steamy! But then, the gut-wrenching choices to protect Alyssa, and all the painful heartache for so many years, by all three...just tore at my heart! The threesome's sexy passion is explicitly bold and touchingly sweet ... the way Shane and Sebastian cherish Alyssa and have this soul deep connection...was pure magic! Theirs is a powerful loving bond that can not be broken...but will it always have to be their secret pleasure?

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy to read and review. It has been entirely too long since we have had a book in this series! This author is always an auto buy for me because her books deliver action packed erotic romance. Never a disappointment! The book starts out at a tame pace when Alyssa meets Shane and Sebastien at a formal party. Shane and Sebastien share women and there eyes are set on this glorious girl barely eighteen. After they meet her and share a decadent kiss they bide they're time until she is out of the country for a summer in Barcelona. There they decide to make her theirs. This book has elements of ménage romance and if you've read the series at all then you will be delighted that there are others from this series appearing in the book. If you haven't started this series yet then you may want to read some of the other books first. Five stars romance!

This is the first entry in this series that I have read but not the first from this author. I have mixed feelings on this book because while I really enjoyed the overall story, there were several times where I feel as though the author dropped the ball. On more than one occasion there were plot elements that were mentioned and then just never followed through on. At times I felt as though I were reading an unfinished book. For instance her mother mentions I've left something for you in your secret hiding place and then they never go back to what was left. The very next scene jumps to the mother's funeral with no mention really of how she died. The ending of the book however is a nice teaser for what might be revealed in the next book.ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not going to go into the details of this book. Instead I'm just going to touch base on my feelings and tell you that some people will really like this while others will find things wrong with it.I loved the characters and have to say that it was difficult to read at times. Not for reasons your thinking. Our menage of characters went through some things that are sure to tear you apart. Sebastian and Shane brought out so much emotion in me The intensity of these two men is enough to cause a meltdown. They are made for Alyssa. I can't articulate the feelings Alyssa's character brought forth. All I know is after reading this book, I will continue to follow the author through more books and look forward to the next.

I enjoyed Secret Pleasure. Though it is book 13 in the Bound heart series, it is a great stand alone entry. I was treated to a peek of some of the other guys from the previous books, but sadly the club was not featured at all, just a mere mention. It still made for a lovely read and I devoured Secret Pleasure in one sitting. It had the trademark hot hot ménage scenes and the emotional intensity Lora leigh writes with. The plot was pretty decent, though not overly complicated, and it wove seamlessly with the love story. I loved Shane, Sebastian and Alyssa together. The chemistry was believable and all their scenes together was great. Was this the best book in the series? Of course not. But it is a wonderful addition.

From the minute they saw her they knew they had to have her. I really enjoyed how Alyssa had Shane and Sebastian wrapped around her oh-so-innocent little finger. Though they knew she was unexperienced the let her know their plans and rolled with it.She ended up being a firecracker and held her own. I REALLY enjoyed their time in Spain and then BAM... I KNEW something was coming but DANNNNG it I wanted to punch them in the head! I get their reasoning but COME ON GUYS making her feel like that!!I didn't see the whammy of the guilty party coming! Enjoyed the happy ending too!http://beksbookblog.blogspot.com/2016...

Edited - my "stars" were missing. It has been a couple of years since I read the previous book in this series, so I went into this hoping I didn't need to refresh....and I didn't.But holy shit on a stick....so. many. Bad. Guys. It went on and on.The book was well written. We were given details of Alyssa' s life in the last eight years (with a little surprise thrown in) but not much on the guys. I wanted to know what they had been up to as well. Other than alphabet soup things what did they do?
